Aerial images captured by the Orange County Fire Authority’s Fire Integrated Real Time Intelligence System (FIRIS) on May 11 and 12 show the Coastal Fire burning in Laguna Niguel, California. On Thursday morning, FIRIS reported that the blaze was “holding” at just under 200 acres. “Aggressive containment lines from last night’s resource are holding well,” FIRIS said in a tweet. The Orange County Fire Authority issued mandatory evacuation orders for residents in Laguna Niguel. At least 20 homes were destroyed by the fire, local news reports said. ABC 10 reported Southern California Edison said “electrical circuit activity” was detected around the start of the fire on May 11. Credit: FIRIS via Storyful
