76ers’ Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle trade plan, revealed

The Philadelphia 76ers are headed for a huge offseason with key decisions. The biggest question mark still centers around James Harden and what kind of contract the team offers him after a tumultuous first season with the Sixers.

But the roster could very well be in flux beyond the Beard, with the latest report from Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer detailing the Sixers’ trade plans for their peripheral pieces, particularly Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, and Danny Green.

Philadelphia has continued to explore Tobias Harris trade packages. The Sixers have called a healthy portion of teams to gauge the value for each of Harris, Danny Green and Matisse Thybulle, sources said, and have called several teams specifically searching for a first-round pick in exchange for Thybulle as part of a three-team deal framework to land an impact veteran rotation player.

Thybulle was once seen as a vital part of the Sixers’ future. But given his limited offensive arsenal and his lack of development in that area after three seasons, the team may be looking to move on.

The same goes for Tobias Harris, who has also spent over three seasons with the team. While Harris has been a key contributor for the Sixers, his production hasn’t been enough to justify his hefty contract.

With James Harden likely getting something close to a max contract, the team is searching for ways to trim their salary cap table quite a bit.
