A model has come under fire for her choice to wear a white dress to her friends’ wedding, with hundreds of women criticizing her attempt to hog the spotlight.
‘Why would you let your friend come out looking a mess?’ said one woman.
“I thought it was something she had put on while she was getting ready. It doesn’t look good, added another.
‘I’d cringe at that…it’s an absolute disaster in every way.
“I would be heartbroken if someone wore a beach cover up to my wedding,” added another.
Others criticized Lacey’s decision to wear white to a wedding as embarrassing, telling her she “should know better.”
‘WHITE!!!!!!! Girl… only the Bride should wear white,’ said a woman.
It’s rude: you don’t wear white to a wedding. It’s the bride’s day, not yours, she’s the one in white,’ said another.
Lacey reposted some of the hateful comments after they criticized her original post.
But the brides did not wear white, instead choosing bright red and blue dresses.
Lacey seemed taken aback by the outpouring of comments, saying the outfit appeared to be her most controversial to date, but she refused to back down from her decision.
He explained that not all weddings have the same rules and that he was following the instructions for the day.
She added that both brides at the wedding loved the outfit and were excited to see their friends express themselves that day.
“All I’ve taken away from this week is most people are super boring and have never been to a queer wedding,” she said.
Lacey styled the outfit with sparkly accessories including a jeweled headband and statement nails.
She also took the time to slam people for their fatophobic comments, noting that they commented on the post like “she wasn’t in the room.”
“People who have to look at you are hurt,” wrote a cruel TikTokker.
Others defended her.
‘Everyone in the comments acts like they are wearing white for THEIR PERSONAL wedding. It’s not your wedding, it’s not your concern,” wrote one woman.
“I love how people want all these funky weddings but follow outdated traditions like guests can’t wear white…lol you look beautiful,” another said.
“It’s also tacky to police other’s clothes for events you weren’t invited to, but here we are,” added another.
Both brides wore long sequined gowns to the wedding, one in red and the other in navy blue.
