Aussie Woman Catfished By Man Claiming To Be Hollywood Actor James Spader

An Australian woman has spoken out about the devastating impact of catfishing after her sister, who is convinced she is in a relationship with actor James Spader, missed their mother’s death when she tried to meet the Hollywood star.

*Jenny told Daily Mail Australia that her 55-year-old younger sister believes The Blacklist actor has been in love with her for over two years.

Jenny said she met the actor in a cafe in Australia about nine years ago.

She explained that her sister gave the “swindler” more than $100,000 after borrowing $9,500 from her, taking at least $70,000 from their parent’s trust, and even selling her house to send money to the “actor” to send.

“Here’s what she told us, that they met him in a bar—whether it was him or not, we don’t know,” Jenny said.

“She had been taking money from my parent’s account, which amounts to elder abuse, until I had to step in because I had power of attorney and she disconnected.

“She sold her house and she promised as soon as it was done that she would pay the money back, but nothing has been paid back.”

James Spader is an American actor best known for playing eccentric characters in films such as Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Stargate, Crash and Secretary, and starring in TV series including Boston Legal, The Office, and The Blacklist.

The 62-year-old has two sons with his first wife, Victoria Kneel, whom he divorced in 2004. He has since been in a long-term relationship and shares a son with Alien co-star Leslie Stefanson.

Spader is known for being notoriously private and does not use any form of social media.

Jenny said her sister is refusing to give further details about her relationship after family and friends tried to convince her it’s not real.

The pair are believed to be communicating on Snapchat to protect the man’s privacy as the app doesn’t record conversations.

The relationship has taken a mental, physical and emotional toll on the family, reaching a breaking point when Jenny watched her mother die in June this year, with her sister “chasing after him.”

“Poor mother, she was bedridden for six months and she was told he was coming to visit and she waited and waited but he didn’t show up,” Jenny said, holding back tears.

“The worst part is that the weekend our mother died, my sister left for Sydney to apparently meet him, and it didn’t happen.

“To watch your mother die and her die while your own sister is gone… our relationship will never be the same again.” Never.’

Jenny said their mother’s death should have been a wake-up call for her sister, but unfortunately it pushed her further away.

The catfish has used multiple excuses every time they would meet, including catching Covid, needing an updated pacemaker, not having money due to a divorce, and being investigated by the IRS.

“The latest news is he had an accident and they had to cover it up,” Jenny said.

“I said, ‘but he’s promoting the 10th season of The Blacklist’ and I was told, ‘well they can put him in anything in CGI (computer generated imagery) and they don’t put out press releases’.”

Jenny said her sister was packed and ready for a “private jet” to pick her up several times, but it always gets canceled at the last minute.

Her sister even flew to Canada in October 2021 to meet the man, but never saw him in person after getting another excuse.

Jenny’s sister even sent a picture of the actor’s boyfriend that he sent her. After reverse searching the image, Jenny discovered that the person depicted had died six years ago.

Jenny said the catfish took advantage of her sister at a time when she was vulnerable and manipulated her to the point of alienating her from family and friends.

‘It’s all very sad. She jumped well and is all-in. There’s no point in talking to her… it goes on and on,” Jenny said.

“I don’t know why she can’t give us more information, why we can’t talk to him.

She said she can’t answer questions. She’s just saying it’s not her story to tell. She can’t divulge any information. To me they are just bulls***.

“She was told to keep it a secret and she said she would. Everything we’ve read online rings bells. So many things are wrong, but everything is right for my sister.’

Jenny, who has a degenerative autoimmune disease and was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, said she has to take care of her elderly father alone, who has dementia, because her sister has other priorities that are “all about him.”

When asked what she would say if she could message the man, Jenny replied, “It would be ‘What the f**k? How dare you do to my mother what you did to her, how dare you do our sister to talk to us and talk only to you”.

“I couldn’t say who it is, what it has or where it came from.

“Somewhere in the recesses of my mind I hope it turns out to be true for my sister, but it doesn’t seem real.

It seems impossible that a multimillionaire would not have money. James Spader wouldn’t ask any Australian woman for money.’

Jenny said the whole family thinks she’s “crazy” and wants her sister to “wake up” and see that the con artist has ruined her life and her relationships.

“Our older brother thinks she’s crazy. I think she’s totally crazy. My daughter thinks she’s crazy and won’t talk to her at all and has brushed her off as family,” Jenny said.

“I don’t think she’s seen what she’s done and how it’s affected everyone…or has she and that’s why she’s withdrawn from everyone and that’s what makes it just as bad.”

Jenny said she hopes her story will help other people who have fallen victim to the same catfisher or other similar scams.

“It’s devastating all around, let alone the person who’s going through it is so messed up and still thinks it’s real,” Jenny said.

“If anything, I hope my sister’s story helps someone else realize that what they’re going through isn’t real. It’s not a normal relationship, and it’s not how family is treated.’
