An Oregon homeless woman has been arrested and charged with pushing a three-year-old girl onto a train track in a shocking moment captured on video as the city’s homelessness crisis continues.

Brianna Lace Workman, 32, allegedly pushed the little girl onto the Gateway Transit Center MAX platform in Portland on Thursday.

The little girl, dressed in a pink coat, was waiting in line with her mother when surveillance footage captured someone in a red hat, allegedly Workman, pushing her face-first onto the metal rail.

Fortunately, she was pulled back onto the platform by spectators. She said she had a severe headache and the local prosecutor said she had a red spot on her forehead.

Workman is listed as both homeless and resident in Portland, according to the court.

The district attorney’s office said the child did nothing to provoke the attack and the woman simply came out of nowhere and pushed her.

Workman was charged Thursday with first- and third-degree attempted assault, disrupting public transportation, disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment.

The DA’s office recommended that she be kept in custody.

Her attorney said in a statement: “At Ms. Workman’s request, I am not asking for her release at this time, but I object to the state’s motion for preventive detention.”
